Isetan Mitsukoshi specialty store opened in Paris, France
Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings will open a storeThe Japan Store ISETAN MITSUKOSHI Paris (The Japan Store ISETAN MITSUKOSHI PARIS).
Based on the concept of “ART DE VIVRE AU JAPON (Japanese artistic life),” it opened at the Paris Japanese Cultural Center in 2016/10, and it also became a big topic of conversation because Japanese architect Tsuyoshi Tane, who lives in Paris, worked on the environmental design.

Through city events such as Paris Fashion Week and unique events linked to special exhibitions at cultural centers, etc., we are promoting high-quality Japanese lifestyle products and growing customer traffic from all over the world.
Introducing the appeal of Japanese brands rooted in the community

From 2017/7/18 (Tue) to 28 (Fri), the summer fair “Ryo — Un été Rafraichissant-” will be held here at The Japan Store to introduce traditional crafts and regional products selected by Japan Promotion from all over Japan.
They exhibited and sold 117 items from genres such as tableware, fashion, and interior that incorporated stylish coolness so that French households could easily enjoy the Japanese culture of “being cool,” and it was crowded with many shoppers every day.

When the fair is being held,2017 Japan Expo ParisHowever, with the cooperation of offices and local governments in Susaki City in Kochi Prefecture, Karatsu City in Saga Prefecture, Iida City in Nagano Prefecture, Fukui City in Fukui Prefecture, Otawara City in Tochigi Prefecture, Fukuoka City in Fukuoka Prefecture, Kyoto Prefecture, Hiroshima Prefecture, and Okayama Prefecture, various products full of the new appeal of Japanese aesthetics and techniques were exhibited.

Cultural celebrities such as UNESCO ambassadors and the director of the Japanese Cultural Center in Paris attended the reception

On 7/20 (Thursday), a reception was held where cultural stakeholders and VIP customers were invited as guests, and they were able to see a lineup that incorporated the characteristics of the region and the ingenuity of the creators.
Mr. Satoji (Kuni), Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Japanese Government Delegation to UNESCO, Mr. Tsutomu Sugiura (Kuni), Director Sugiura Tsutomu of the Japanese Cultural Center in Paris, Mr. Françoise Morechamp, who is active in a wide range of activities such as an international advisor and essayist at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, and Mr. Garnier Delphine, president of the Cattle-Color Association, visited the venue and enjoyed chatting and shopping.
2018 Susaki Ambassadors (>>Click here for detailsJoel Oroque and Linon Marie, who were selected for), quickly contributed to PR for this fair.
Thanks to the kindness of Otawara City in Tochigi Prefecture, the famous local sake “horan (horan)” was served to all the guests. It's also a brand that hasn't been sold in Paris yet, and its fresh flavors attracted the attention of guests, and played a role in hospitality that made them feel the depth of Japanese culture.

The Japan Store is likely to become an even more important hub in the future as a showcase for diverse techniques and traditions that vary from region to region and a place to discover interest in Japanese culture seen from overseas.
The summer fair “Ryo — Un ét rafraichissant-” will continue to be held from 8/1 (Tue) to 9/2 (Sat) at SWAY GALLERY PARIS (SWAY GALLERY PARIS) in the Paris-Marais district.
